And ever since a winter trip to London years ago, I realized I love walking in the biting cold, shivering, with my face frozen, because it makes that warm pub feel even more wonderful!
I totally get that! There's a weird puritanism in the way that comfort comes after some sort of discomfort. Even though I'm Mediterranean through and through, I seem to have this puritan tendency to feel like coziness has to be earned through hard work or discomfort like what you describe in your London walks!
