I think in between two comforts, one's hard work provides satisfaction for a job well done, a sense of achievement, a triumph over the road and weather. Isn't that what makes getting up worthwhile?

I always think I have to 'earn' my shower, then it feels even better. Glad you keep your entropy in your front hall closet-I think I keep mine in my head...

I especially like the idea of how physical exertion can cross boundaries and transform the “entropy” in our heads. That’s the most important one, though of course I’m hoping to hit the one in my closet too…

It's so true: here is no clean and comfy quite as clean and comfy as that which comes after exertion—especially when precipitation is involved!

The shower is sort of like an arts patron. If we all had patrons, we could go out into the proverbial rain with our creativity and take risks and we would know it would all come out right in the end!
