Great title and piece. I struggle with this sometimes, knowing what stories to tell. I seem to have too many. And it’s not easy to hear what story calls me the most until I start writing it.
Sometimes it's helpful to sit and write your way through the question of what interests you about X story. You'll likely answer with something that comes easily to mind (if you're like me!), but then you have to push and ask yourself again, ok but why. And then keep going until you reach the heart of the question. Sometimes I've surprised myself quite a bit with what I discover to be the source of my interest in a story. And sometimes this is the test that actually, nope, there's not enough there to hold my interest!
